The Story Behind OFA
I’m Aaron Newton, the founder of Oklahoma Fishing Adventure. I’m from Northeast Oklahoma, where I started fishing farm ponds as a kid. I was lucky enough to experience both fun fishing and sport fishing from a young age, but I really fell in love with the sport fishing side. As an adult, I spent several years tournament fishing before a health issue eventually kept me off the tournament trail.
When I stopped tournament fishing, I started a new chapter as a YouTube content creator and became a founding member of 918Fishing. I enjoy making fishing videos, but I discovered that my real passion was teaching people what I had learned.
That passion led me to create the Oklahoma Fishing Adventure YouTube channel and this website. The goal is simple: share useful information that can help make your fishing adventures more successful and more enjoyable.
While 918Fishing focuses more on the trips and the fish we catch, Oklahoma Fishing Adventure is where we break those trips down and share what worked, what didn’t, and what we learned along the way.

Hello, I’m Jesse Vang. I’ve been fishing in Oklahoma ever since I was old enough to cast a line. My earliest memories on the water are with my dad, who taught me everything he knew about fishing. Ever since then, I’ve been hooked—literally and figuratively.
For me, fishing is more than just a hobby. It’s a way to make memories that last a lifetime. Whether you’re fishing solo at sunrise or spending the day on the lake with friends or family, there’s something special about being out on the water. It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old, experienced or new—anyone can fish, and that’s the beauty of it.
I also love the constant challenge fishing offers. There’s always something new to learn—different techniques, bait setups, seasonal changes, or ways to read the water. And just as much as I enjoy learning, I find joy in sharing what I’ve learned. Helping others improve their skills and watching them catch their first fish (or their biggest one yet) is one of the most rewarding parts of it all.
Fishing in Oklahoma has shaped who I am, and I’m grateful for every moment on the water. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned angler, I encourage you to get out there and start making your own memories.

We’re not trying to tell you we’re the best anglers in Oklahoma. We’re here to share what we learn, help other anglers become better fishermen and women, and make it easier to find useful Oklahoma-specific fishing information.

More Than Catching Fish
Fishing has given us a lot, and we want OFA to be about more than views, followers, and catching fish. As OFA grows, we want to give back to the fishing community by supporting conservation and programs that give kids opportunities to experience fishing.
