Today my family is fishing on a chartered fishing trip with Sarasota Saltwater Adventures. We went to Sarasota Florida on our family vacation back in July 2021. I told my wife for my birthday I wanted to Charter a fishing trip while in Florida. We did extensive research on charter trips in and around Sarasota. We decided to book with Captain Casey from Sarasota Saltwater adventures. The selling point for us was the different trips he had available.
We booked the Florida Lifestyle Adventure trip and that is 1/2 the time fishing and the other 1/2 is all about wildlife and looking for shells and sharks’ teeth. Unfortunately, our trip fell on a red tide event. After discussing our options with Captain Casey we opted to go with an in-shore catch and release trip instead. Man Captain Casey had us on fish within minutes of anchoring down at our first stop. It was nonstop action of catching multiple species of fish. I only brought 2 cameras with me so we missed a lot of the action. I had my Osmo Action chest cam and an Osmo Pocket handheld. We ended up all fishing at the same time instead of taking turns when we first started. We had several doubles and at least one triple. We had an absolute blast fishing with Captain Casey. He is very knowledgeable about the area’s wildlife. He pointed out different types of birds and wildlife that have made their homes in the mangroves.
The area has some massive oceanfront beach homes. Captain Casey even pointed out several celebrities’ beach homes while we were out. All in all, I don’t think we could have picked a better charter for our family. We wanted to catch species of fish that we can’t catch here. Man did he deliver on that.
