Today I finally do the Minn Kota Power drive I Pilot Trolling motor upgrade on Tracker V-18 boat DIY I pilot install. I have been putting off upgrading my trolling motor for far too long. I finally break down and purchased a 70Lb thrust Minn Kota 24v power drive trolling motor with I Pilot. This Power Drive trolling motor had the remote and spot lock features that had me sold on it. I picked up the Power Drive unit from Bass Pro and had it shipped to me. This was a huge upgrade from my existing 54Lb thrust foot pedal style Motorguide. The installation is pretty straightforward if you are replacing an older unit. Although on my boat I was upgrading from a 12v system to a 24v system. This made me have to upgrade some batteries and chargers as well.
